This morning Gary Newman the creator of Rust and Garrys Mod posted an unexpected blog post on the official Rust Website announcing that after 4 years Rust is now finally leaving early access.
Rust started in 2013 on steam early access but finally on the 8th of February 2018 it leaves early access and becomes a full game on steam.
For Rust fans the intimidate concern and naturally any gamers concern when a game goes into full release is, is that the end of the weekly constant updates we have grown used to ?
Gary Newman advised “Part of leaving Early Access is making the development more stable. That means that not rushing in features and fixes that end up breaking something else. For that reason we’re going to be transitioning to monthly updates.”
However if you are someone who likes to get involved in testing updates on a less stable branch then a new staging branch with official test servers will be created.
With this move out of steam early access the price of rust will increase from $19.99 to $34.99, but with the amount of hours myself and many others have got from the game already at the new price it is still brilliant value for money!
